Student KITAS

  • The Student KITAS is for those who want to study in Indonesia (Kindergarten to High School).
  • This residence permit is sponsored by the school.
  • The KITAS is valid for 1 year and can be extended 4 times — 5 years in total.
  • It is necessary to stay in Indonesia during the extension period (30 days).
  • You can apply for the KITAS from abroad or from Indonesia.
  • This residence permit allows you to enter and leave the territory as you wish.
  • Only for children 3 years or older.

Required Documents

Applicant Documents

  • Copy of passport with a minimum validity of 18 months
  • Statement of honor that the student will not work in Indonesia (agency provides the letter)
  • Letter of financial guarantee from parents or sponsor (agency provides the letter)
  • Copy of parents' passports
  • Copy of the last 3 bank statements (personal or parents') — minimum USD 2,000
  • Birth certificate & family record book (in English, sworn translation)
  • Address in Indonesia
  • Identity photo (selfie on a white background)
  • Current visa (ONSHORE only)
  • Flight ticket to arrive in Indonesia (OFFSHORE only)

Important Notes

  • This KITAS does not allow you to receive money in Indonesia or receive a salary. It does not allow you to sell goods or services.
  • This residence permit allows you to enter and leave the country.
  • It must be sponsored by the school where the child is enrolled. If your child is no longer enrolled in that school, you must break the KITAS with an EPO.
  • The KITAS is valid for 1 year from the date of creation; a maximum of 4 extensions of 1 year are possible.
  • We can extend the Student KITAS 30 days before the end of its validity.
  • Extensions are only 1 year — it is not possible to make a shorter extension.
  • If you exceed the validity date of the KITAS, the penalty is 1 million IDR per day per person.
  • It is possible to convert a KITAS into another KITAS with the Bridge Visa.
  • If you want to extend the KITAS, you must stay in Indonesia during the extension (30 days).
  • If you do not want to extend, you must break the KITAS with an EPO.
  • Immigration reserves the right to change the regulations at any time.
