KITAS Extensions

  • KITAS extensions allow you to renew your temporary residency permit before it expires.
  • Extensions must be initiated at least 30 days before your current KITAS expires.
  • You must be present in Indonesia for the entire extension period.
  • Most KITAS types allow a maximum of 6 years total validity including extensions.
  • An Exit Permit Only (EPO) is required if you wish to cancel rather than extend.

Required Documents

Applicant Documents

  • Current valid KITAS / ITAP card
  • Passport with minimum 18 months remaining validity
  • Current KITAS registration report (STM / MERP)
  • ID photo (passport-style, white background)
  • Additional documents depending on KITAS type (bank statements, insurance, etc.)

Important Notes

  • You must remain in Indonesia throughout the extension process.
  • Initiate at least 30 days before your KITAS expiry.
  • Overstay penalty: IDR 1,000,000 per day per person.
  • If not extending, cancel with an EPO before departure.
  • Immigration may change regulations at any time.
