Ex Indonesian Citizen KITAS

  • This KITAS applies to individuals who were born in Indonesia and have changed their nationality during their lifetime.
  • The KITAS can be valid for 1 year, 2 years, 5 years, or 10 years.
  • Extensions are possible for the 1-year and 2-year KITAS, with a maximum validity of 6 years.
  • It is necessary to remain in Indonesia during the extension period (30 days).
  • You can apply for the KITAS from abroad (OFFSHORE) or from within Indonesia (ONSHORE).
  • You must provide proof of birth in Indonesia to apply for this residence permit.

Exit Permit Only (EPO): Mandatory if you want to stop your KITAS or apply for another residence permit. Price starts from IDR 1,000,000.

Required Documents

Applicant Documents

  • Valid nationality passport with at least 18 months of validity
  • Bank statement for the last 3 months with a minimum balance of USD 2,000 at the end of the month (name, surname, PDF format)
  • ID photo
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Document proving the applicant previously had Indonesian nationality (Identity Card, Family Card, Birth Certificate, Passport, or Land Title Certificate)
  • Address in Indonesia
  • Declaration of commitment to be completed within 90 days after entry into Indonesia (purchase of Indonesian government bonds, shares, or mutual funds worth USD 15,000)

Important Notes

  • This KITAS does not allow you to work and receive money in Indonesia. You cannot sell goods or services.
  • We can convert a visa to Ex-Indonesian Citizen KITAS.
  • You must have a sponsor — the sponsor must be an Indonesian company. Legal Legends can sponsor you.
  • Please inform us of your travel or exit plans to extend your KITAS on time.
  • The KITAS is multiple entry — you can enter and exit the country as you wish.
  • With this KITAS you can sponsor your family members with a Family KITAS.
  • Extensions must be initiated 1 month before the end of the validity period.
  • If you overstay your residence permit, the penalty is IDR 1 million per day per person.
  • Immigration reserves the right to change regulations at any time.
  • We cannot initiate the OFFSHORE creation process if you are in Indonesia.
  • Once your e-visa is finished, you have 90 days to re-enter the country.
